    SiMiS is a frozen yogurt company located on the island of Mauritius. With its self-service concept, customers have the opportunity to personalise their frozen yogurt with a variety of flavours and toppings to choose from.

     

    The aim of the project was to develop a brand strategy for the SiMiS Frozen Yogurt Company, targeting the tourist market of Mauritius.

     

    Mauritius is one of the world’s most popular holiday destinations, attracting thousands of tourists annually to their shores, making tourism one of the key sectors that contribute to their economy.

     

    In order to grab the attention and appeal of the mass tourist market, our solution was to capture the essence and emotions associated with Mauritius (and island holidays in general) in a visual identity that is modern, fresh and playful. This offers customers a frozen yogurt brand experience unique to the island of Mauritius.

Using the country of origin as inspiration, a Dodo bird (synonymous with Mauritius) was developed into a mascot to personify the brand. The Dodo would act as the official fictional spokesperson for the brand, assisting with brand recognition and marketing communication.

04. Website Design

Due to tourists being the predominant target market, SiMiS wanted to ensure positive word-of-mouth, rather than focusing on creating brand loyalty. In doing so, tourists would share their positive SiMiS experiences while visiting Mauritius once homeward bound.

 

A strong online presence was created to capture the essence and brand experience of SiMiS, to facilitate individuals to share and recommend SiMiS to fellow tourists visiting Mauritius in the near future.
